  • How can I start referring friends?
    There are two ways you can start referring your friends to Kanguro. Go to your App and tap the button “Get a $25 Amazon Gift Card with our Referral Program” and then select the option “Let’s do it”. The code will appear, and once you click on it, you can share it with your friend. The other option is to call us and let us know the person you want to refer, and we will contact them. Once the person purchases the policy, you will receive the reward.
  • Who can assist me if I have additional questions or inquiries?

  • I want Kanguro to stop processing my personal data. How can I do that?
    Kanguro need to process some personal data in order to provide you with the Kanguro services. To delete that personal data, you need to close your account.
  • Is there a limit?
    No, you can refer any friends you want.
  • What does kanguro do with the money that is not used to pay claims?
    We are big on the social give back component! When you enroll, we have the option of donating part of the un-used premium to global warming organizations, animal shelters and Hispanic community organizations.
  • Where does Kanguro offer their services?

  • When do I get my rewards?
    Once your referred friend purchases the policy, you will receive the Amazon Gift card in your email in less than 24 hours. When holidays or weekends, it will be sent the next business day.
  • Which veterinarians or hospitals can I go to and use my policy?
    Kanguro accepts all certified vets and clinics in the states it is authotized to offer coverage, verify with your veterinarian.
  • Can I add another pet?
    Of course, the more furry family members the better, we can enroll up to 5 furry family members.
  • How to submit a claim
    What you need 1. A finalized invoice 2. Detailed medical records Submitting the claim 1. Log in to your Kanguro App 2. In the main dashboard right when you login please scroll down and choose claims or in the coverages section scroll down and choose claims 3. Talk to Javier and answer his quick questions 4. Upload your pictures Next steps We’ll send you push notifications with updates, but you can also login at any time and stay informed about your claim with our claim’s tracker every step of the way!
  • Do I need my pets medical history?
    It is very important for us to get to know your furry family member and understand their current condition! This helps us process your claim faster! Kanguro needs to review the medical history at the beginning and throughout the policy period as well.
  • What is preventive plan?
    This is what we call insurance for the day-to day routine! By having access to huge savings on preventive care mom and dad would have wanted and done anyways. Kanguro wants to offer more than just a coverage for when there is an unfortunate accident or illness. We want to promote a healthy and long-life offering coverage that will help your pocket and prevent unnecessary surprises.
  • How do I know the status of my claim?
    You can visit our claim tracker in the Kanguro APP to understand in what part of the claims process you're currently in at any time and from anywhere.
  • What are waiting periods?
    Waiting periods means there is a 14-day period before all coverages are activated for accident and illness and 6 months before knee condition coverage is activated. This gives us enough time to verify your furry family members medical records. If you selected our preventive and wellness coverage well than you are good to go! There is no waiting period for this.
  • Are there various payment plans available?
    We offer three payment plans: Monthly, quarterly, and Annual.
  • Can I purchase a policy before my lease starts?
    Absolutely! When purchasing a policy, you have the flexibility to choose your coverage start date.
  • If I'm subleasing an apartment, can I still obtain renters insurance?
    Yes, you can. However, remember to set a reminder for cancellation once your sublease concludes, as our policies run for a year only (no fees for cancellation).
  • Can I buy insurance for someone else if I'm not on the lease?
    You can purchase a policy for others, such as college-bound kids. Ensure their information is provided throughout and include yourself as an Authorized User. Not on a lease but need coverage? No problem, proceed to purchase the policy.
  • What happens when I move? Can I retain my coverage?
    Your coverage moves with you. Just update your address in advance by contacting us at 888-546-5264 or emailing customersupport@kangurounsurance.com
  • Can homeowners purchase a Renters Insurance policy?
    Homeowners or mobile homeowners are ineligible for Renters Insurance. However, if you transition to renting, we're here to provide coverage.
  • Can adjustments be made to my policy post-purchase, such as adding a roommate, upgrading coverage, or altering coverage amounts?
    With a Renters Insurance policy, you have control. You can make such adjustments by utilizing our Kanguro App, contacting us at 888-546-5264 or emailing customersupport@kangurounsurance.com
  • What does general liability cover in the renter's policy?
    Imagine you're renting an apartment, and one day, accidentally, you leave the tap running. The water overflows and seeps into the apartment below, damaging your neighbor's expensive furniture. Or suppose a friend comes over, slips on a rug in your apartment, and breaks their arm. In both these situations, you could be held legally responsible for the damages or injuries.
  • Will my policy cover my home user for Airbnb? Can I get renters insurance for an Airbnb I'm staying at?
    Regrettably, using your home for Airbnb constitutes a business, not a residence, thus negating coverage for damages caused by guests. We don't currently offer temporary plans for short-term Airbnb stays. However, if an Airbnb becomes your long-term residence, you can obtain a Renters Insurance policy.
  • What does a Renters Insurance plan for you and your belongins mean?
    Safeguard your personal belongings and receive assistance with personal liability expenses. Kanguro stands by your side during unfortunate events. Even the most modest possessions, such as clothing, linens, and cookware, can become a significant expense if you have to replace them all at once. Additionally, Renters insurance can offer protection in case your belongings are stolen outside of your residence, like in a storage unit or your car.
  • Does the policy cover rented furniture?
    Yes, Renters Insurance covers rented furniture.
  • How much is it going to cost me?
    It really depends on: - What type of home do you live? - Where do you live? - How valuable are your belongings? - What is the annual limit you're seeking Kanguro to cover for your personal items and personal liability?
  • Is enrollment in autopay and autorenewal mandatory?
    We exclusively offer autopay for your convenience. The payment method you use will be utilized for future payments. Autorenewal is compulsory, but we'll send a reminder beforehand.
  • What are some of the covered events that are included in our Renters Insurance?
    Theft, Fire, Smoke, Hail, Lightning, Windstorm, Vandalism, Explosion are some to name a few that Kanguro will there to protect you from should an event occur.
  • Is it possible to obtain a policy for less than a year or for longer durations?
    Presently, our policies are for a duration one year. If your lease spans less than a year, simply ensure to set a reminder for cancellation (no penalties or fees apply). For longer leases, your policy will automatically renew each year, alleviating any concerns.
  • How do I file a claim?

  • How and when will I receive my policy documents? What if I require additional copies?

  • Is it necessary to list my spouse/partner/children on the policy to cover their belongings?
    Your Renters Insurance automatically covers your belongings and those of family residing with you at no additional cost. You can also add a roommate to your policy without extra charges by specifying their name at checkout.
  • Do you offer sample marketing materials to help me start my own campaign to attract customers and referrals?
    Yes, we offer signage, brochures, and collateral with QR code where customers can quickly experience how easy it is to understand & easy to buy in just a few clicks!
  • How will I get compensated for selling your products?

  • Do you integrate with our Agency management systems?
    No, we provide all off the servicing and administrative tasks to service the customer including claims.
  • How do I service the customer?
    Once you’ve secured the sale of the policy & assist the customer on downloading our Super APP, Kanguro takes care of the rest!
  • How am I able to offer Kanguro Insurance products?
