Here to help you every step of the way

Kanguro renters insurance covers your personal belongings against theft, fire, water damage, and vandalism; personal liability if a guest gets injured in your home or you accidentally damage someone else's property; additional living expenses if you're forced to temporarily relocate; sewer backup repairs; and fraud/identity theft protection. Scheduled items coverage is also available for high-value belongings. Coverage, endorsements, availability, and limits may vary by state and are subject to the terms and conditions of the issued policy.

Kanguro renters insurance does not cover damage to the building itself (that is your landlord's responsibility), earthquake damage, intentional acts, normal wear and tear, or belongings owned by roommates who are not listed on the policy. Flood damage is not included in standard coverage, although optional flood coverage may be available in select states. Coverage is always subject to the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions of the issued policy.

Yes. Kanguro renters insurance may help cover theft of your belongings at home or away from home,  including stolen packages, items taken from your car, and belongings stolen while you travel. Subject to your policy terms, limits, and deductible.

A standard Kanguro renters insurance policy covers the named policyholder. Roommates are not automatically covered and must be explicitly added to the policy as named insureds in order to have coverage. A maximum of two unrelated persons may be insured under the same policy. Family members living in the home are automatically covered.

Renters insurance is not required by law in most U.S. states, but many landlords and property management companies require it in the lease. Either way, your landlord's building insurance does not cover your personal belongings or your personal liability — so renters insurance is strongly recommended even when it isn't mandated.

Scheduled items coverage provides full replacement value for expensive belongings listed individually on your policy. Eligible items include fine jewelry, musical instruments, cameras, TVs, computers, bikes, electric scooters, valuable art, designer clothing, collectibles, rare books, appliances, barbecue grills, and home office or home video equipment. Coverage limits and maximum values are shown during the quote process.

The cost depends on your location, coverage amounts, deductible, and any optional add-ons. Because Kanguro plans are fully customizable, you only pay for the coverage you need — no bundled extras. Get a personalized quote in seconds at kanguroinsurance.com with no commitment required.
